About halfway through the book and it has over delivered many times already.
Easy to understand, sequential step-by-step actions clearly written, nice touch of humor throughout.
Definitely recommended if you want to know Facebook inside and out.

This is a solid, well-crafted introduction to using Facebook written by two Facebook employees. But it is not the best intro to Facebook that I’ve seen. That honor belongs to “Facebook:The Missing Manual”.
While both books ostensibly cover the same general subject areas, “Facebook for Dummies” attempts to cover a broader swath of territory. The Dummies layout is also far more text oriented. Both books cover the old Facebook graphic interface: it was changed early in 2009 – and both books were published about a year earlier.
Either book will help the devoted reader become very familiar with Facebook and its operation, though I give the edge to “Facebook: The Missing Manual” because its much crisper layout and copious illustrations.
In some ways, “Facebook for Dummies” is more granular than its competition: it covers certain areas in substantially greater depth. The question is whether these more thoroughly covered areas are of interest to you.
The two books are very similar in coverage. If you are seriously interested in understanding the structure of Facebook, buying both wouldn’t be the worst decision you could make. If you can, browse both before making a decision.
Overall, either title will serve you well.

I got the Kindle download, was merrily following along until the very-entertaining writers got down to actual screens, apps, etc and … hunh?
Reviews on Kindle fail to mention that it is woefully out-of-date. Screens have all undergone one or more major revamps since it was promulgated and many things they instruct about simply no longer exist, as in: “Cool! I can see who of my friends is online now?!… WHAT arrow in the center of the right side!?” A trip to FB online Help says: Nope! Feature: intermittent – and constantly moving around as FB’s techies continue to tinker.
The book is good for general concepts – only that and nothing more. Otherwise, it frequently resembles a guide to US IRS Form 1040 based on Canadian forms.

I purchased this book, because I kept hearing about all the people making money with Facebook. Was hoping it would be similar to Quit Your Job (and Never Go Back) – How to Create, Start, & Market an Online Business for Under $500 in 30 Days or Less with a concentration on Facebook. Didn’t realize that Facebook was more of a social site than anything else, although there are people making good money on it.
While I didn’t find anything about making money with Facebook directly in this book, the sections about connecting with people, building relationships, and networks were all very helpful to me. Facebook is a great way to reach thousands of people with just a few clicks of the mouse and I have made some really good business connections by using it.
This is a good book. If you enjoy the “Dummies” style, you will enjoy this book. It had good information and is humorous at times. There is definitely some information here, which I had no idea about. Not everything was for me, but I feel I have received good value for my money.
